Read MoreI have spent the past three years exploring parenthood and the vulnerabilities that it brings. My thesis closed the chapter on insecurity and opened a new one for me to document parenthood in a new way. This year, I decided to showcase parenthood as it is. Each day I will capture a photograph from a moment in my family's personal life. They won't be perfect because, like life, nothing is, you take what you can get. This year will bring many journeys for my family, and I can't wait to share them with you.
Read MoreI love engagement sessions! Couples are one of my favorite things to photograph, especially when I get to work with them again for later events. Engagement sessions give me the chance to work one on one with a couple and see what they love and how they interact with one another. I love exploring the intimacy in their love and, of course, the sessions are always full of love and jokes.
Read MoreAs many of you know, births are one of my favorite things to photograph. The emotion, the rawness, and the bringing in of mew life always catch me right in the feels. It could be because I am a mother myself, or just because I love being apart of such a beautiful moment... Mainly, it's a mix of both.
Read MoreI had a very special session a couple of months ago that I am finally adding to the blog. Not because i want it to be broadcasted all over or to showcase the best work I have ever done, but because it has touched my heart so much that I truly can't forget it...

Read MoreThe first time I met Chris and Mary was when I was creepily watching their special moment unfold at the very end of the break wall in Port Austin, MI. I know, that sounds so weird right? But actually it was a very sweet story...
Read MoreI recently announced that I was not going to be offering anymore studio sessions, and I know many people were wondering why I choose this...
Read MoreI get asked what's in my camera bag quite a bit from inspiring photographers and colleagues. So, I thought it would be a good time to do a detailed post about all my gear, what I use to shoot and why, and where I keep it all!
Read MoreI think it is normal for people to have a list of things they want to do: Go skydiving, swim the barrier reef, travel to Europe.. The list can go on. I have my own version of this list for myself, as I am a huge wanderluster and I love to travel and explore. (Although, scratch sky diving off that list, I know I would chicken out) ...

Read MoreI've always been a fan of photos, ever since I was a kid and my first cameras were those disposable ones that you only got to see what you took after your film was developed. I think I spent more time taking pictures of random things than the normal kid. So much that my step mom complained about always having to develop the cameras with "nothing on them.” ...
Read MoreI always see posts on social media shaming new photographers, making them feel incompetent and silly for wanting to get into this industry. Sure, it is already over saturated… and sure, it seems like everyone and their mom is now a photographer to make an easy buck.. Which, of course, I understand why it bothers other seasoned photographers out there when this goes on all the time in their area. I mean, let’s be honest here, it completely sucks being undercut by someone charging not even enough to pay taxes. But does it really mean that we should shun all newbies out there?
Read MoreI'm one of those people that loves being out of the norm, I have always liked to see the world a bit differently. Most rainy days would have people cuddled up in there home, but not me! I have always loved how beautiful the rain can make things, the reflections it creates, and the stillness from the empty streets that are normally filled with people. There is a weird beauty to that emptiness that intrigues me.
Read MoreI love those precious moments right when a baby is born. Those tiny hands, feet, ears, toes.. I could go on forever. Being a mother helps aid in my baby gushiness as well, most of the time I go home and look at my toddler and wonder where time went. I think it is what most mothers do though as their babies grow up.
Read MoreI had the special opportunity to photograph all three parts of Princeton's birth story: while he was in the womb, his birth, and his newborn photos.
